How The Extinguisher Harness Works

Fires don’t wait. Make your safety plan ready now.

Why we made the Adaptive Extinguisher Harness

To be frank, Fire Extinguishers were not designed with Seniors or people with physical disabilities in mind, leaving them vulnerable in emergencies. Most standard models demand a level of physical exertion and coordination that many people with limited mobility might not have.

Operating one typically requires:

  • Dual-Hand Coordination: You have to hold the heavy canister with one hand while aiming the hose with the other.
  • Fine Motor Strength: Pulling off the tough safety pins and plastic seals can be nearly impossible during a high-stress emergency.
  • Significant Lifting Strength: Modern extinguishers are surprisingly heavy, and lifting them is often beyond the physical capability of someone with limited strength.

This gap is serious because adults ages 65–74 are 2.3× more likely to die in a fire (rising to 2.8× for ages 75–84), furthermore about 15% of U.S. fire deaths involve people with physical disabilities. With over 1,000 house fires reported daily in the USA, the need for accessible fire-safety tools is clear.
